This very much depends on who you are as a person, what your book is about and who your audience is. Ultimately, it comes down to effective marketing, building a focused author platform, engaging with your audience, gathering reviews, and expanding distribution channels.

This sounds like a lot of work to do, and all you ever really wanted was to write a book!  

To make more money per book, buy author copies of your book and sell them EVERY where you go.

Look for opportunities where you can sell 100s and 1000s of copies of your book at once.

The reality of becoming an author is that you have to also become a businessperson, a sales person, a marketeer, and a public speaker.  You can go as big or play as small as you want, it just depends on the amount of money you want to receive in life to live the ultimate lifestyle you have always dreamed about.  

There are many key strategies for selling more books and this can be via pop-up shops, social media ads, book fairs targeting your chosen audience, speaking at large scale conferences, reducing the price for flash sales (and your profit margins) as well as getting an influencer to champion your book.
