How much do I get paid in royalties a month?
Royalties vary widely based on factors like book format, sales channels, and contractual terms. Typically, authors receive a percentage of the book’s retail price in exchange for selling their manuscript to the publisher.
Royalties vary from 5 percent to 15 percent and on occasions a lump sum payment may be agreed for a test period. Some publishers promise a 50:50 split on income from goods sold, but make sure you’re aware of how this “income” is calculated.
However, here at DBI, we do things a little differently. We do NOT buy your manuscript and all royalties made on the book are yours to keep, so you can get paid as much as you like.
