Moving on to the next phase of our lives or businesses takes a lot of deep diving, facing facts, acceptance and letting go.
Sometimes no matter how much we wish to believe in something, we know that sooner or later, we just have to move on.
Images on vision boards get taken down, conversations and photos get deleted, people get unfollowed or blocked, play lists and songs are removed from our collections and for no other reason than to allow ourselves to step into a new possibility.
Friendships are tested, sometimes removed, and putting distance between ourselves and others is necessary to preserve something much bigger than our own ego.
Building or scaling our businesses is no different to any other relationship we have. We have to pay attention to our vision, nurture it and anything or anyone that could possibly be damaging our brand or vision has to go.
Our own behaviours need constant adjustment, distractions we allow into our day need to be removed, and our higher self needs to be actualized at all times.
Nothing and no one can get in our way. Take our eyes off the ball for a moment, and our business, our vision and our future can be jeopardised before we’ve even had time to finish a cup of tea.
This is one of the reasons why so many people will never make a success in business. They are not relentless or disciplined enough.
They like the idea of being in business, but not the reality. They lack focus, motivation and clarity on what they want. They focus purely on the money and not in being of service to others.
Some people are so focused on comparing themselves with others, looking for outside validation, or making sure they look the part, thinking that the only way to success is the corporate way.
It’s not. Never has been, never will be.
Nor is having a degree, or coming from the ‘correct social class’.
As a single woman focusing on scaling my business, I do not have a man in my life to distract me; and what you see today on my website will not be what you see next week, and certainly not in a month’s time.
My team and I have been working on a lot of ‘stuff’ behind the scenes.
With the new branding about to be launched, and many of my new and updated author services about to be automated and streamlined so all those who want to gain access to my teachings, can now get them at a fraction of the price of working with me 1:1, I can now focus on my chosen 11 in the AUTHORity MasterMind Publishing Deal.
Things are getting even more exciting than ever, and those of you who know me well, will know I love being excited!
We’re sorting out navigation here on the website to help more authors and entrepreneurs gain access to what they are looking for, so they too are able to launch a successful career as an authority in their chosen specialist subject.
Author is the root word of authority after all.
My books have been structurally re-edited ready to be republished and kick start other projects. New clients are coming on board, and others have come to the end of their journey with me without a publishing deal being given.
I’m focused on my long term vision, and nothing and no one will ever stop me.
The integrity I wish to uphold for myself, for my brand, my team and of course my clients isn’t just being witnessed by those who deal with me professionally, or personally, it’s also being witnessed by my sons.
I am my brand, and I take it seriously because my mum chose my name, which I then chose for myself, and my dad gave me my surname. To dishonour my name is to dishonour my family, and that is not going to happen. EVER.
Eyes are everywhere, especially when looking back at ourselves in the mirror, or seeing ourselves through the eyes of our children. For me, that’s another dose of accountability right there, the view my children have of me.
And if I’m not serving humanity at the highest level I’m capable of, in the hope I get to make the world a better place for them, or for others on the planet, then why am I even here?
Allowing ourselves to get distracted is a human trait, and none of us are immune to distractions.
This last year someone took up far too much of my time. I took my eye off the ball with a couple of areas of my life and although my business didn’t suffer, I did.
And it hurt.
A lot.
Especially when I finally woke up to the reality that I had trusted someone I shouldn’t have with more access to me than they deserved.
I had been blindsided by what I thought was a friendship, overlooked the warning signs and red flags and I only have myself to blame.
When this happens we can spend our time being annoyed. We could wallow in a pity party, blaming others but the greatest thing to come out of experiences like these is the gift of adaptability and spotting the signs early on.
In the situation I found myself in, I was able to continue moving forward, seeing the lessons for what they were and take the next leap of faith into my future, whilst being present in the moment and being grateful I’ve learned to identify, reflect, move through the pain and release it quicker than ever before.
Does it still hurt?
Absolutely!
Will it hurt forever?
Only if I allow it to.
In business we cannot afford to dwell on mistakes and we must accept the feedback as the next stepping stone to our greatest success and higher self.
No learnings equals no growth, and no growth equals no success.
It really is that simple.
So whatever life is throwing at us all right now, and there is a lot which we could allow to stick, we just have to rise above the collective narrative, and continue to evolve.
We are the leaders of tomorrow and we have an important role to play in the future of mankind. So, let’s leave the past in the past, focus on the present moment, hold our heads high with confidence and grace, knowing where we are both personally and professionally is exactly where we need to be to learn the lessons that shape our future, and the future generations.
Until the next time, take a moment, be still, reflect, accept and allow yourself to move through whatever you’re going through, at whatever level you’re playing at; because even at the top of our game, we all need reminders to take a breath.
